AeRO was established to:

provide a forum for those interested in eResearch so as to stimulate discussion of relevant issues

support research, advocacy and lobbying on behalf of the eResearch communities in Australia and New Zealand

support eResearch in higher education
-
promote co-operation and liaison with other groups and organisations which have related or complementary purposes and activities
-
establish an association of organisations employing professionals engaged in eResearch; and
-
facilitate professional development of eResearch staff

Luc Betbeder-Matibet
UNSW

Luc Betbeder-Matibet is a nationally recognised subject matter expert in High-Performance Research Computing, Research Data practices and shared Research Infrastructure services. He is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the School of Computer Science and Engineering at UNSW.

Aditi is driven solving intricate problems, and seeing patterns where others might see chaos. Aditi weaves these ideas into coherent strategies that drive progress and transform ideas into impactful realities. Aditi’s work centres on fostering collaborations that harness high performance computers and diverse minds to tackle complex scientific challenges.

Gareth Williams
CSIRO

Gareth has helped evolve CSIRO’s HPC capability to expand to meet a broad range of needs and to enable integration with other services. Gareth fulfills a ‘glue’ role, engaging with a range of internal and external groups interested in Data and eResearch services at CSIRO.

Ryan Fraser
AARNET

Ryan is the Director, Digital Research at AARNet and leads AARNet’s engagement in research and delivery infrastructure to support research activities. Over the past 25 years, Ryan has worked in a leadership capacity across many parts of the research and infrastructure sectors with a focus on program delivery, directing and strategy.

David is an Emeritus Professor of Computer Science in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, at the University of Queensland.
David has expertise in High Performance Computing, distributed and parallel computing, computer architecture and software engineering.
